Are you a dedicated and skilled radiographer looking to advance your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Kent Oncology Centre at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, invites you to join our team as a Senior Therapeutic Radiographer.

At Kent Oncology Centre we operate as one team across our two sites at Maidstone and Canterbury.

We are equipped with nine linacs including six Truebeams, two Halcyons and one Varian IX. HDR is delivered at Maidstone with treatment radiographers rotating through the service. Consultant Palliative Radiographers and MacMillan specialists support the teams on both sites.

As a Senior Therapeutic Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality radiotherapy treatment including SABR, DIBH, VMAT and IGRT

The post will be linked to a professional development package which will assist the post holder to progress through a career pathway.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • To lead a team of radiotherapists on the treatment units ensuring all activities are performed according to trust and department policy within the quality environment
  • Undertake radiotherapy treatment using ionising radiation to treat patients with cancer with both curative and palliative intent.
  • To plan and organise daily work and some complex activities or programmes for an area of practice, some of which may be ongoing.
  • Responsible for own and other members of staff time management in the defined area.
  • Adapt practice according to planning and organisational management for better service delivery.
  • Ensure policy implementation within the geographical and professional workplace.
  • To facilitate attendance at the Disease orientated group meetings
  • To inform the Clinical specialist or Services manager of any problems that may affect the smooth running of the Department. To be aware and report any variances in the performance of equipment by the normal reporting system and to organise regular equipment servicing.
  • Ensure working practices facilitate an efficient safe working environment
  • Undertake image evaluation and approval

Experience/ Knowledge

  • Substantial experience as a clinical Therapeutic Radiographer
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to treat patients within a timely manner as sheduled
  • Undertake imaging evaluation and approval
  • Work all Day with cancer patients
  • Experience on computerised treatment associated equipment
  • Working knowledge of the pre-treatment process
