Deputy Divisional Governance Lead

The WCRO division are offering an exciting opportunity to join our fabulous Governance Team in the role of Deputy Divisional Governance Lead, embedding and continuously improving the quality of the services we provide and safeguarding high standards of care for our patients and staff, within the delivery of the Clinical Governance Agenda.
Applicants will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills .
The candidate must have an understanding of paediatric, radiology and outpatient services. They will be expected to work in collaboration with Divisional staff groups both clinical and nonclinical and interface with other Clinical Governance and Multidisciplinary Teams across the Trust.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Divisional Governance Manager in delivering all aspects of The Trust Risk Management Strategy supporting the Trust in the implementation, review, and ongoing monitoring of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

The post holder will work on a day to day basis as part of the Divisional Governance team and work closely with the Divisional Governance Manager to ensure the divisional team meets NHS clinical governance objectives and targets and contribute to the provision of a first class service to patients.
This is a vital role that has a major impact on developing a clinical governance culture and ensuring patient safety.

- Working with the Governance Manager be responsible for the delivery of the clinical risk management and Clinical Governance agenda within the WCRO Division
- Facilitate investigation and after action reviews/debriefs to clinical teams following incident investigations and as part of the Serious Incident Investigation (SUI)
- Provide thematic analysis of complaints and PALS concerns, identifying potential clinical risk and learning
- Promote a patient safety culture, supporting service areas to improve care / practice, systems and awareness following clinical
- Manage risk assessments, risk register and associated processes
- Facilitate the effective delivery of Clinical Governance and risk activities across defined area within the Division
- Support the Specialty/Departmental Clinical Governance Committees and liaise with the leads to ensure the appropriate agenda and actions are followed. Facilitate learning across the divisions
- Responsible for leading on investigations into serious incidents across the Division collating complex information, communicating with staff, patients and relatives
- Responsible for supporting complaint investigation officers to investigate complaints and produce timely and comprehensive responses to formal
- Support the Division to achieve compliance with best clinical practice and external National requirements e.g.
- Responsible for co-ordinating and facilitating systems and processes across the Division to ensure the dissemination and implementation of lessons learnt from SUI’s, Complaints, audit results, internal and external reviews
- Deputise for the Divisional Governance Manager at both Division and Trust meetings when
- All budget holders will undertake on the job training in all matters financial and will be responsible for ensuring they are setup in the finance/procurement/HR systems with the appropriate authorisation levels.
- Undertake annual review and statutory and mandatory training
- Participate in or undertake training needs analysis
- Responsible for providing teaching, support and advice on quality issues, patient safety, clinical governance and risk management to all clinical staff, allied health professionals, nurses, support workers and medical staff across the Division
