Our pharmacy department delivers exceptional services for our patients, continuously striving to excel further.

If you share these aims, we have an opportunity for a professional, confident and motivated individual to join our Pharmacy Team. Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others, enthusiastic and hardworking ability to lead and be approachable. The post holder is primarily responsible for organisation of workload and supervision of all staff in the Dispensary.

You will have opportunities to help lead and implement numerous quality improvement projects. Supported to develop and encouraged to come up with innovative ways to improve our patients’ care and experience in sustainable ways.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To provide responsive quality improvement and performance data and information analysis, supporting the department to deliver high quality patient care

To provide data for the dispensary and chemotherapy KPI’s and antimicrobial dashboards plus the daily metrics for both dispensaries

To collate and highlight the monthly chemotherapy high cost drug usage data and report to the Lead Technician

To provide prescribing data analysis to help maximise rational use of drugs and support the Chief Pharmacist to achieve annual cost-savings.

To maintain the mandatory training spreadsheet, sickness reporting and the weekend rota for the department

To undertake the provision of a safe, efficient support service to the pharmaceutical care of the Trust’s patients.

 To carry out the final check of listed dispensed items clinically approved by a Pharmacist

The post holder will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays. The post holder will be responsible for prioritising their own workload; they will be required to work accurately whilst under pressure.

Ability to work in a busy environment, prioritise work and meet deadlines

The post will be based at the pharmacy department Darent Valley Hospital, and we are looking for a person, whom can work provide enhanced management and coordination skills to drive forward our service.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, innovative, and able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. You must possess good IT skills.

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent with significant service in a dispensary environment as band 3 Senior Assistant Technical Officer (or equivalent)
  • NVQ 3/ A-levels or equivalent level of competence
  • Numerate and literate e.g., GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5-9 or equivalent (e.g., Functional Skills)

  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Advanced European Computer Driving Licence

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
