Ward Manger ( Hyper Acute Stroke Unit)

Are you an outstanding clinical nurse leader with patients and staff at the centre of everything you do? We are looking for an exceptional clinical leader to help us develop and lead our Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU).

We are looking for a Band 7 ward manager who is ready to lead a team to grow and develop excellent evidence based stroke nursing and exceptional patient experience. We also welcome applications from candidates that have previous band 7 experience.

Applicants who are interested will have experience in stroke and acute medicine.

The ward manager and nursing staff work closely with the Multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive a positive experience during their stay in the ward.

You will be working in full partnership with the other ward leaders, stroke lead nurse and the Multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance practice. Your role is supported by Both the lead nurse and lead therapist in stroke in addition to our Practice Development Nurse and a team of qualified and unqualified nurses.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The Unit cares for stroke patients from across North Kent and south east London.

To carry the  continuing responsibility throughout the 24 hours period for the assessment and delivery of care needs, resource management of the Hyper acute Stroke unit including budgets, capacity and patient pathways.

To act as an expert for the care of stroke patients. 

Provide effective leadership.

To participate in benchmark and quality audits including observation of care. Ensuring that staff receive feedback on the results, and that where necessary action is taken to improve standards.

Being a role model for your team creating a culture that supports and en-powers staff to contribute to safe and effective care.
