Job overview
We are recruiting for a Facilities Operative (Cleaning) at Dover Health Centre, 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day, working Monday to Friday 0530 to 0830
Experience within the Commercial Cleaning industry is welcomed.\n Please note, this vacancy does not meet the criteria for skilled worker sponsorship
Our hourly rate in this role will be £12.36 (from April 2025). Weekend and Bank Holidays will attract an enhanced hourly pay.

Main duties of the job
This is primarily a hands-on cleaning position where you will learn all the back-ground skills and knowledge to enable you to complete the role, e.g. enhanced and periodic clean training, NHS National Cleaning standards, completion of paperwork, equipment training, COSHH, waste management and basic catering tasks.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education including literacy and numeracy
Desirable criteria
- Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)
KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Understanding of good hygiene Basic knowledge of IT skills Understanding of written and verbal English language
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of NHS Cleaning Standards Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety practices
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 6 months continuous cleaning experience Experience of working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
- Experience of cleaning in a health and Social Care setting
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and presentation. Can work as part of a team and on their own initiative. Able to carry out manual tasks
