We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Clinical Nurse Specialist - HIV to join our caring and progressive team in Eastbourne.

Main duties of the job
Our team delivers high-quality evidence-based care to people to support their sexual health needs.
You’ll be part of an enthusiastic and passionate team dedicated to keeping people in Kent and Medway safe and well, now and in later life, by providing contraception, treatment for sexually-transmitted infections, and advice and support to maintain healthy relationships.
You’ll provide sound clinical judgement and leadership to support our team to safely deliver patient-centred care, and consistently monitor quality and progress in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered health care professional (NMC) / minimum of 3 years of experience in health improvement environment Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 7 Evidence of Post Graduate Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples –: non-medical prescribing; mentorship, STIF NHIVNA, Counselling or willing to work towards) Management or supervisory qualification / programme of study
Desirable criteria
- PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education Evidence of further study/qualifications in the field of Risk reduction or Behaviour Change or Public Health Accredited Counselling qualification Recognised psychosexual qualification Working towards Master level study LOC for insertion/removal of subdermal implants LOC for the insertion of IUC
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in area of practice Experience of leading and managing teams Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management. Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience Experience of working autonomously by leading nurse led clinics.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using models of Risk reduction/Behaviour change with clients either in 1:1 or in groups Experience of working in Health promotion and partner notification. Clinical Audit/Research Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ CIS)
Knowledge

- Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations Good knowledge of the principles and practice around Partner Notification. Knowledge of national and local policies and guidance relevant to HIV Understands key issues and developments in HIV Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
