To support the work of the wider Cardiorespiratory Department by fitting holter monitors, Ambulatory BP monitors and performing12 lead ECGs on a range of adult and paediatric patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support the work of the wider Cardiorespiratory Department by fitting holter monitors, Ambulatory BP monitors and performing12 lead ECGs on a range of adult and paediatric patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

To support the timely running of the outpatient echo lists in Cardiorespiratory by preparing patients for their clinical examination, assisting the patient after the examination and cleaning the room ready for the next patient. 

There will be an essential requirement to rotate through the main department at Medway Maritime Hospital and the CDCs currently located at Rochester Healthy Living Centre and Sheppey General Hospital.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSEs including English and Maths

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to measure patient’s height, weight and blood pressure
  • Ability to perform ECG is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working with people in a CSW role or experience of performing ECGs in an outpatient setting

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to assist people with mobility issues
  • Excellent communication skills
