We are recruiting for a Staff Nurse who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Bronte ward has 19 beds and treats cardiac patients requiring level 1 care. We work closely with the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and the Cardiac Catheter Suite (CCS).

Swydd-ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

It is essential the post holder holds the appropriate level of skills and knowledge needed in cardiac setting. We will provide training to develop you cardiac nursing skills, but a basic understanding of cardiac nursing is essential. 

Provide essential nursing tasks such as drug administration, carryout personal hygiene care, work alongside other multidisciplinary team, ensure practice is evidence based and compliance with the organisation policies.

Be proactive and take ownership of self development in cardiology

Ability to recognise clinical concerns and escalate it to  appropriate persons.

Adhere to trust policies and guidelines.

The role will encompass specific responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care and expertise within the clinical area.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients; and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.

Qualifications

  • RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register
  • To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality

Knowledge

  • Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues

Experience

  • Experience of working on own and in a team
  • Experience of working in the relevant area

Skills

  • Able to assess plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care
  • Ability to administer prescribed medication including transfusion of blood and blood products
  • Competent in basic life support
  • Able to manage difficult situations
