We are recruiting for a Senior Clinical Support Worker who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be an experienced clinical support worker, preferably with experience within an Emergency Department or other acute area. We are a great employer for supporting your career aspirations and welcome those aspiring to be a future Nursing Associate.
You will gain a great deal of knowledge and complement the nursing workforce to the benefit of patients
Ensure patients receive timely tests and investigations and that great care is at the heart of what we do
You will be allocated to a team of nursing staff and receive an extensive induction package

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Our Emergency Departments requires a finely tuned infrastructure to ensure patients receive the investigations they require at the earliest possible opportunity.
Many of these technical roles are undertaken by our supporting workforce, including: ECG recording, IV cannulation and phlebotomy, Bladder scanning, Recording Vital Signs, National Early Warning Scores and neurological observations.
In addition key infrastructural functions such as: Completing checklists, Checking equipment and replacing vital stock, Supporting staff play a major role in the provision of expert care and quality initiatives within ED.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 in either “Direct Care”, “Health”, “Health, Social Care”
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Can compare basic test results to normal values
- Understanding of ED environment & demands
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in an acute care setting
- Able to work without direct supervision from a Registered Nurse and accept responsibility for delegated work

Skills

- Able to read, write, communicate and perform simple calculations
