 We are recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be expected to provide continuity of care for the groups of children within the Trust’s on-site day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe, secure, emotionally, and physically stimulating environment and deliver an ambitious curriculum within the early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To be able to work within a child’s day nursery ensuring that each child is provided with a safe and secure, emotionally and physically stimulating environment and programme of activities in which to develop

To plan and provide as a group a wide range of activities and for a group of children, which covers all aspects of the EYFS and individual child development

To be fully responsible for the children in your care, providing a consistently safe and secure and stimulating environment

To work as part of a team with other staff members to ensure children receive the highest standards of care

Ensure that accidents/individual problems with children, staff or parents are brought to the managers attention

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the nursery, promoting personal hygiene standard through monitoring toilet procedures as well as maintaining cleanliness in the playroom and surrounding areas.

Assist in preparation and serving of meals and supervising meal times

Attending regular training sessions

Attending termly staff training and development days.

Assist in out of hours events such as fete’s, open evenings

Nursery Practitioners must at all times respect the principle of confidentiality of information gained through their work.

To be a key worker to a group of children supporting them through their learning and development journey.

To have a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and follow local policies and procedures for raising concerns.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Early Years
  • Grade C or above English

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Child Development
  • Ofsted Framework

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Working in a childcare setting with children aged 6 months to 5 years
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
