We are looking to employ a Clinical Support Worker who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Paediatric Team to deliver high quality, family, centred care for children and young people on the Paediatric Unit under the supervision of the senior paediatric team.
Caring for children and young people on the paediatric unit with a variety of conditions. The children and young people we care for are aged 0 - 18 years.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Understand and adhere to Family Centred Care within the Paediatric Unit
Ensure that all Unit and Hospital policies and guidelines are adhered to. Maintain correct records and reports as per Unit and Hospital policies
Ensure the health, safety and welfare of children, young people and their families and staff at all times
Maintain confidentiality
Maintain at all times a good standard of professional relationships with relatives and visitors
Promote a good relationship with colleagues
Adhere to mandatory Health and Safety Trust requirements
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Evidence of a General Education e.g. GCSE’s or equivalent
- NVQ 2 in Healthcare/QCF Diploma in Health Level 2 or equivalent in area of speciality or an equivalent level of working experience within a similar role
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge and experience of taking clinical observations
- Knowledge of Manual Handling of patients, using lifting aids
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the Clinical Support Workers role in the Paediatric Unit
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working with children
- Some experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant in a Hospital or Registered Care setting
- Customer Care Experience
