We are recruiting for a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Assistant who share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic senior pharmacy assistant. To join our trust clinical pharmacy team. The post includes the provision of clinical ward based services.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior pharmacy assistant to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to working at ward level providing ward based clinical pharmacy services . We are looking for someone with previous pharmacy experience who has a passion in this area of work in hospital pharmacy. You must be an enthusiastic, motivated and a patient orientated pharmacy assistant dedicated to patient safety.
The post holder will be educated to NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services. With previous pharmacy experience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will work with the clinical pharmacy team under the guidance and supervision of the clinical pharmacy technicians and clinical pharmacists in providing a Clinical Pharmacy Service in a ward environment. You will assist in the day to day operations of a ward pharmacy team ensuring an efficient and effective service is provided. This includes facilitation and re-use of the use of Patients’ Own drugs, one-stop dispensing, discharge planning and pod checking and dispensing eDNs at ward level.
The role will involve being a practice supervisor in supporting trainee's at ward level.

Essential criteria
- GCSE (English & Maths C or above)
- NVQ2 (pharmaceutical)
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Stock Control
- Familiar with pharmacy procedures and workflow
- Demonstrated accurate numeracy skills, without using a calculator, including calculations
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous hospital or pharmacy experience
- Understanding of hospital pharmacy environment
- Completed in-house or national accreditation for POD and medicines supply
