We are recruiting for a Team Lead Physiotherapist - Front Door Therapy Team who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Working within a busy ED environment and SDEC and short stay wards, assessing, managing and treating patients with a board range of conditions, including falls, delirium, neurological and respiratory conditions. 

To be on call competent and participate in the emergency on call rota. 

Supervising team members clinically and in 1:1 supervision sessions. 

Management of students on placement. 

Department and team/service development. 

Main duties of the job

Delivering high quality care, assessment and treatment of patients in ED, SDEC and acute assessment units/short stay wards. 

Leading a team, in partnership with the Team Lead Occupational Therapist. 

Active participation in the emergency on call rota.

We are recruiting for a Team Lead Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in Emergency and Acute Medicine to co-lead our Front Door Therapy Team. The candidate should share our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and have the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful post holder will be expected to work as part of an integrated therapy team, consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants in order to provide excellent therapy care to patients and their families.

As a Team Lead Physiotherapist you will ensure that you provide timely assessments and interventions to a variety of patient’s including falls, neurological and respiratory conditions.

You will be supported team members wherever necessary.

You will also be expected to delegate appropriate tasks to less experienced physiotherapists and therapy assistants, provide support to the rest of the team where necessary and assist the development of the service.

The role will provide you with experience of working in a challenging and fast-paced specialist ward environment and the opportunity to develop skills within this area

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/Diploma in Profesional Field
  • Current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses/CPD to Masters Level
  • Membership of special interest groups

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Awareness of the challenges of group dynamics in patient groups
  • Communicating with patients and a wide range of health care professionals
  • Profficient in the use of Microsoft IT packages.
  • Ability to pass on skills and knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments
  • Identification, implementation and reporting of processes for increased efficiency
  • Provides motivational and negotiating skills as required

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience including broad range of clinical experience
  • Experience of Clinical Education of Students within area of expertise.
  • Awareness of principles of adult protection and safeguarding
  • Management and Leadership training or experience
  • Experience in health, acute hospital or social care setting
  • Experience using Microsoft office suite including PowerPoint and excel
  • Experience in the correct handling and storage of data using paper or computer based entry systems

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Experience of carrying out assessment and treatment in the context of complex medical and psychological problems where there are likely to be conflicting expert opinions
  • Diplomatic and persuasive communication technique to challenge current practice and change historic working practices
  • Able to communicate with a wide range of professionals and the public
