Logistic Team Leader - Portering

Salary: £25,147 - £27,596 per annum/pro rata

We are recruiting for a Logistics Team Leader who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Joining our vibrant and busy team, you’ll be required to manage the day to day operations of the Portering Department, and have good working knowledge of all the other Logistic service as some cross coverage may be required.

Applicants will be required to be flexible and work weekends and bank holidays as they will be required to work a shift pattern in a 24/7, seven days a week service.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

Your primary responsibility/duty is to lead all aspects of the daily operations of the area/areas of main management responsibility, by providing an excellent customer focused service, ensuring that all Department tasks/duties are completed in a professional and timely fashion.

To be responsible for the management, supervision and administration of the post holders designated area/areas of responsibility to include but not exclusive: appraisals, attendance, booking of bank staff, sickness / absence records through the use of the Trust databases, and arranging bespoke and or mandatory training.

The Logistics Team Leader will be required to delegate tasks as necessary though out departments, services and teams, whilst utilising good leadership and problem solving skills, ensuring that they actively pursue and reinforce the Trust’s policies in relation to Equal Opportunities and diversity legislation.

To manage and maintain adequate staffing levels by co-ordinating and producing all staff duties/rosters, ensuring that any staff absence is covered.

Liaise with all users of the Logistic services to include , patients, trust Department and services and external companies and agencies in a professional manner and where required problem solve in line with Department SOPs and trust policy.

Qualifications

  • Educated to QCF / NVQ 3, or equivalent working experience

Knowledge

  • Working within a NHS orgonisation Facilities/Logistics team
  • Up to date knowledge of current and developing Law, Legislation in relation to Facilities services as detailed above is desirable
  • Knowledge of operating practices and guidelines relating to NHS Trusts

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in Facilities/ Logistic Leadership/ management or associated organisations
  • Experience of carrying out audits and/or delivering training
  • Ability to establish credibility and good relationships with internal management and staff including managers, clinicians, clients and stakeholders and manage those relationships with sensitivity and diplomacy

Skills

  • High level of IT skill is required on programs such as Excel, Microsoft 10, Word
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professionsacy
