Consultant Upper GI Surgeon

Salary: £99,532 - £131,964 Per Annum/ Pro Rata

Grade: Consultant

We are recruiting for a Consultant Upper GI Surgeon who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the  Best of Care by the Best People  and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

The department of General Surgery provides the full range of general, colorectal, breast and endocrine surgical services to the local population in addition the hospital provides specialist urological cancer services to the region.

It is the vision of the department to develop Upper GI surgery and this role will involve developing this area of practice. Medway has been a leader in the adoption of acute laparoscopic cholecystectomy services and at the forefront of the Emergency laparotomy quality improvement project. There is fully functioning registrar hot clinic and this will be one of the key areas for further development along with the set up of the Upper GI Surgery Service.
