Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Band 5 Wound Care Community Nurse to join our Community Nursing Team based in the Herne Bay area. You will provide high quality, specialist care to housebound patients with complex wounds in patient’s homes and in a clinic setting. 

You will be responsible for the running of the day-to-day Wound Clinics and ensure close collaborative working relationships with Primary Care Networks, Community Nursing Teams and other members of the MDT, providing shared care to meet the health and social care needs of the local population. 

The Wound Management Centre is offered to housebound adults with patient transport and 5 days a week including bank holidays.  The shift patterns cover 8am until 5pm.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Health Care Professional (NMC Registration)
Desirable criteria
  • Completion of external Wound Care course, PS/PA

Expierence

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in area of practice
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other IT programmes (RIO)

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of local and national guidance around wound care (NICE, NHS England, Wounds UK)
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continued professional development in the past 12 months

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of training relevant to post, good time management, prioritisation and able to work under pressure.
  • Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
