Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Procurement team at KMPT.

Our team plays a pivotal role within the organisation, enabling the Trust to effectively purchase and contract manage its goods, services, and works requirements in compliance with UK legislation, NHS guidance, internal policy and best practice. 

Playing a key part in the delivery of an effective and professional procurement service, the Procurement and Contracts Advisor delivers on-going cost efficiencies and wider benefits by managing of a programme of procurement processes, in addition to providing specialist advice on contractual and commercial related issues. 

You will support the team in the delivery of savings, ensuring fit for purpose contracts are in place, and by having an awareness of the importance of building positive relationships and taking a commercial pragmatic approach.

Main duties of the job

  • The role will be hybrid working, which includes a mixture of working from home and being office based.  Occasional visits to operational sites may be required.
  • You will lead and deliver a programme of procurement processes for the Trust which will include quotations, tenders (including above Threshold), and accessing framework agreements, ensuring value for money and excellent patient care is delivered.  
  • You will be required to develop excellent working relationships with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is professional, responsive and of a high standard.
  • You will deliver fit for purpose contracts that support the Trust's vision and values and deliver annual cashable savings along with wider efficiencies and social value benefits.
  • You will support the Trust and operational leads with effective contract management to ensure performance and on-going value is delivered throughout the contract term.  This includes providing technical advice on contract terms and conditions, dealing with contract disputes, and negotiation with suppliers.
