Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Procurement team at KMPT.
As Procurement and Contracts Advisor you will play a key part in delivering an effective and professional procurement service that delivers on-going cost efficiencies and wider benefits to the Trust, whilst ensuring compliance with UK public sector procurement legislation and regulations, and best practice.
To succeed in this role, candidates must (at minimum) have:
- Good experience of running procurement processes under the UK public sector procurement legislation and regulations, including:
i. Open tenders (above and below threshold); and
ii. Framework agreement mini-competitions and direct awards - Experience of developing comprehensive tender documentation and evaluation criteria
- Detailed knowledge of UK public sector procurement legislation, practices and tender management.

The role will be hybrid working, which includes a mixture of working from home and being office based. Occasional visits to operational sites may be required.
Main duties of the job
- You will lead and deliver a programme of procurement processes for the Trust which will include quotations, open tenders (including above and below Threshold), and accessing framework agreements, ensuring value for money and excellent patient care is delivered.
- You will be required to develop excellent working relationships with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is professional, responsive and of a high standard.
- You will deliver fit for purpose contracts that support the Trust's vision and values and deliver annual cashable savings along with wider efficiencies and social value benefits.
- You will support the Trust and operational leads with effective contract management to ensure performance and on-going value is delivered

- Good knowledge and experience of running procurement processes under the UK Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (and/or the UK Procurement Act 2023), from inception through to contract award and implementation, including: i. Open tenders (above and below threshold); and ii. Framework agreement direct awards and mini-competitions.
- Experience and detailed knowledge of public sector procurement practice and tender management, including developing comprehensive tender documentation and evaluation criteria.
