You will have previous office experience and be committed to delivering a high standard of service to our oncology patients. This post will concentrate on the aspects of ensuring that patient notes are fully prepared for clinics, registering new patients and booking appointments in line with national and local targets.
Main duties of the job
Other duties will include but not be confined to reception duties and ensuring filing/health records/archiving and other tasks are dealt with appropriately and support is provided as designated to all areas of Patient Services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of general education
- Level 3 NVQ
- Keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
- Formal qualification in keyboard skills
- Formal qualification relevant to role i.e. customer
- IT qualifications
- Educated to GCSE/GCE level
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience allied to the role e.g. customer service, dealing with people
- Experience of work requiring a methodical and organised approach
- Patient administration experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a hospital/ NHS/public sector setting
- Experience of a variety of IT systems e.g. Word/Excel/hospital administration systems
Skills
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of confidentiality
- Telephone skills
- Awareness of cultural and individual differences among the patients, carers and colleagues
- Medical terminology
