Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust Patient access training team as an RTT Trainer.
 
This post is open to those who wish to start a career as a Trainer in the NHS as well as those that already hold a professional training qualification.
 
The post holder will work with our Senior Trainer and training team to assist in running efficient and high-quality RTT training across MTW sites, ensuring that all MTW staff gain the skills, knowledge and support required to work confidently and effectively while applying the elective care policy.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to develop and deliver training material in a variety of forms including written, in person and virtually.

You will be confident in working with a variety of different staff groups and be able to adjust your communication style to suit your target audience.
You will have the ability to analyse various data reports in order to identify training needs and work within your team to design and implement an action plan and training programme to address these issues with the objective of reducing errors.

Strong organisation, communication and prioritisation skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to solve problems and work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.

Alongside your interview you will be required to present a 10-minute Pre-Prepared presentation , if you are successful in gaining an interview the Pre Prepared Presentation will be sent to you in plenty of time prior to the interview date.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE LEVEL or equivalent experience
  • An accredited training qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of Advanced Allscripts knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to analyse data quality reports and make informed decisions
  • Able to use Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher as visual aids to support training

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • An understanding of RTT and management of Elective Care pathways.
  • Strong VDU/Keyboard skills and proficient in Excel
  • Ability to assess users learning needs, gain their confidence and adapt training appropriately
  • Proven experience of delivering training courses
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of successful training course delivery
  • Previous experience of an educator role.
  • Experience of successful course development
  • Experience of producing effective training content and materials
  • Experience of using Patient Administrations Systems e.g. Allscripts, e-RS, sunrise
