Job overview

*Current Foundation Trainee Pharmacists are welcome to apply*

We have an exciting opportunity to join our clinical pharmacy team. You will be supported in your role and development by our specialist principal pharmacists and you will rotate through a number of specialties e.g. Stroke, Frailty, Patient Services, Surgery, Medical Admissions, Respiratory, Cardiology, General Practice, mental health and Oncology. There are also opportunities for cross-site rotations at our sister hospital Tunbridge Wells e.g. paediatrics/medicines information and trauma/surgery.

You will be encouraged to develop within this role and we would support you in achieving all the required skills, knowledge and behaviours described in the RPS Foundation Pharmacist Framework. We will also encourage you to become actively involved in the training of staff, supporting the education and training initiatives across our department.

Main duties of the job

You will play an essential role in optimising patient care during their hospital stay and at discharge. You will be an important part of the multi-disciplinary team; liaising with doctors, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals.

Our department excels in nurturing talent and developing foundation pharmacists into senior members of the team. We will provide you with opportunities to flourish in your role.

As part of the role you will also take part in our weekend, Bank Holiday, late night and on-call rotas.
