Clinical Improvement Manager

Job overview

The SACT Clinical Improvement manager will provide support to the Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance system-wide SACT demand and capacity project by supporting all SACT units across Kent and Medwat to look at their demand and capacity, write a report of the findings and develop recommendations and actions for unit.

The post holder will also support the unit leads to write a business case in support of the findings as required.

The initial priorities are to support the SACT units to manage their demand and capacity, support improvements using quality improvement methodology and tools, especially around patient experience and patient safety.

The post holder will be working closely with the lead nurse and MSD UK, a global pharmaceutical company.

The post holder will contribute to the wider workforce requirements for SACT units in Kent and Medway

Main duties of the job

To work with MSD and stakeholders on the demand and capacity project.

To complete an options appraisal and review of current SACT services

To complete a gap analysis

To link with the oncology workforce review

To be seen as a clinical expert and act as a resource to all members of the multi-professional teams working within the Trusts

To promote the development of chemotherapy services in line with the National Cancer Quality Standards

To attend and participate in the work of the local and Alliance Chemotherapy Service Groups and other relevant groups as delegated

Participate in service developments, business planning, and service review of chemotherapy services.

The KMCA SACT Project Manager will deliver transformational change and quality improvements, to improve the quality and experience for cancer patients across Kent and Medway.

This role will involve complex negotiation and influence with senior service directors, clinicians and managers at both an operational and strategic level across the acute Trusts in the Alliance geography.
