Job overview

The GI Endoscopy Network Clinical Lead will provide leadership across Kent & Medway, collaborating with multi-disciplinary professionals, to direct the strategic and operational development of coherent and effective network arrangements. Achieving outcome ambitions for patients and benefit to population health will underpin the delivery of a programme of work that addresses efficiency and innovation along with both national and local priorities.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be the responsible officer for the Kent & Medway GI Endoscopy Network.

To be a dynamic clinical leader for GI endoscopy services in the development and delivery of network activities in Kent & Medway. The network will support the system in the provision of upper and lower GI endoscopy along with hepato-pancreatic endoscopy (ERCP) and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).

To act as a champion for patients and their interests and put the needs of the local population at the heart of network strategy development and decision making.

To create and maintain network structures that support widespread multi-disciplinary involvement including managers, doctors, clinical endoscopists, nurses, administration staff and trainees.

To engage and develop collaborations and collaborative working for quality improvement across the whole health community, which will enable equitable access to quality care and the achievement of outcome ambitions for patients.

To innovate across pathways and advise and support the system with the provision of alternative and complementary diagnostic tools.

To advise on workforce and to champion the training of the future workforce across Kent & Medway

  • Registered clinical practitioner with current registration with their professional body.

  • Specialist training in relevant area.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
