People and Culture Project Support Senior Officer

Job overview

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Kent and Medway People Strategy 2023 – 2028 by providing project leadership to programmes of work which will make Kent and Medway a great place to work and learn.

You will plan, support, manage and coordinate workforce projects and related work packages using various change and project management techniques. The role will include working with key stakeholders across partner organisations to plan and deliver agreed programmes of work, providing project methodology and supporting delivery against KPIs and within agreed milestones.

You will play a key role in managing the reporting requirements of the relevant workstreams/work packages within the People Directorate, including reporting to external bodies such as NHS England.

Main duties of the job

The People and Culture Project Manager will be expected to:

  • Support the planning and manage delivery of assigned workforce projects, working with key stakeholders across all partners in the ICS
  • Develop, implement and maintain accurate project documentation and drive forward projects with support from programme managers
  • Supporting the organisation and smooth running of systemwide meetings and stakeholder engagement (including workshops) by ensuring the right people are in the conversation, at the right time with the right information
  • Ensure that project plan activities are completed by the responsible officers in line with due dates identified in the plan
  • Undertake research in agreed areas to enable informed decisions
  • Ensure risks and issues are identified and escalated to the appropriate senior leaders or oversight group responsible for the project
  • Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects
  • Develop key performance indicators and benefits for relevant projects and ensure these are monitored on a monthly basis to provide assurance of project delivery
  • Develop post project evaluation reports detailing lessons learnt and benefits realised

Qualifications and experience

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, or supporting workforce change management
  • A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management and/or workforce planning/workforce development/workforce resourcing
  • Previous experience in similar role in health and care
  • Experience and understanding of evaluating and measuring the impact of workforce projects and programmes
  • Workforce development knowledge and experience
  • Experience in communications and complex stakeholder management
  • Strong Microsoft office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and powerpoint
  • Experience of drafting complex reports and presentations
  • Experience of managing risks and issues, capturing actions and holding to account for delivery of agreed actions
