Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly experienced, Director of Planned Care for Kent and Medway ICB.
This senior role, reports to the Chief Delivery Officer and works closely with the Executive Team, driving the delivery of outstanding health and care services across Kent and Medway.

You will be leading a team of highly experienced individuals to deliver RTT, Cancer and Diagnostic DM01 performance, across 4 acute trust, 10 independent hospitals and over 200 AQP providers also responsible for transformation projects within the planned care sphere you will be SRO on a number of projects.

You will be responsible for operational planning for planned care and the subject matter expert for the ICB in all areas of planned care activity, you will also be the ICB’s named director for improving patient experience in elective care

You will also be responsible for contracting and commissioning performance for over 200 AQP and independent sector contracts you will lead the team to provide the highest standards in this area.

In addition, you will bring knowledge of the current strategic context and will help to create a clear vision for the expanded role that community services play in ensuring that an increasing number of people experience high quality treatment and care at home. Working in partnership with our acute providers, as our well as our independent sector providers, community providers, Primary Care and the voluntary sector.

Main duties of the job

• The post holder will have responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the Department/Directorate/Cluster/Sector. Plans to achieve the strategy will be underpinned by the delivery of short to medium term objectives.
• Ensure the strategy is formulated, understood by all stakeholders and is delivered utilising all available resources efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure the development and management of plans, within the Kent and Medway NHS/Sector.
• Ensure AQP and Independent Providers contracts are commission and contracted managed in accordance with local and national legislation.
• Proactively manage the key risks and issues associated with ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond.
• Monitoring and establishing accountability on the overall progress of the strategy to ensure completion within agreed timescales.
• Manage the budget for all AQP and Independent sector contracts , have senior budget oversight over other contracts
