An exciting opportunity has arisen to work alongside experienced physiotherapy /occupational therapy clinicians in the area of Trauma and Orthopaedics at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital, Margate.
As a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner you will be part of a well-established Therapy team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with grades ranging from Band 3 to Band 8a. The well-staffed teams work generically, providing high quality care through effective team work. A positive and organised approach to rehabilitation is essential. Good communication skills and commitment to team working within a safe, empathetic and supportive environment are also needed.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be able to provide support to the therapy teams on the Orthopaedic wards in the day to day assessments of clients and delivery of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy treatment programmes. The Band 4 role will also involve the timely planning of discharge and referral to onward community services. The band 4 provides generic therapy and works as part of the MDT.
We are extremely proud of our Therapy Service which has over 300 staff across Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Orthotics. We have had significant funding to increase staffing across 7 days as well as across ITU, Stroke and the establishment of Frailty Assessment Units as well as a brand new Elective Orthopaedic Centre. Therapy services are recognised and respected across the Trust as being integral to safe and effective patient care.
This vacancy sits within the wider Clinical Support Services Care Group which provides essential services within the patient pathway. The Care Group is extremely diverse and is comprised of Audiology, Outpatients, Medical Physics, Pathology, Pharmacy, Radiology and Therapies specialties.
