The post holder will be responsible for managing a small team of staff over three areas(Special School Nurses, ADHD Nurses and Specialist pre-school provision) and provide daily support and advice to the team. In partnership with Education, Social Care, Health professionals and other service providers to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all the service users and always work in a manner that promotes dignity and respect.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

The successful post holder will need to be a Registered Children’s Nurse with experience and knowledge of the key attributes of nursing children with Learning Disabilities, Sensory processing and additional health care needs within a pre-school, and primary/secondary School environment and ADHD Nursing.In partnership with members of the multi-disciplinary team the post holder will develop, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that CYP receive the highest standard of care.

The post holder will act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, incorporating intensive intervention support and guidance to parents/carers. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits and research within the specialist area..

Be responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies in the specialty. To interpret information and take appropriate action and to lead others to do the same

Act as an advocate for patients within the community setting to ensure the  orientated approach to the delivery of care and meeting agreed standards.

 Ensure that CYP s receive high quality care, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines.

  • Mentorship Course

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Practise
  • Knowledge Child Development
  • Knowledge of Community Childrens Services

Experience

  • Must have two years acute/community paediatric experience.
  • Experience of working with Children with Learning Disabilites/sensory processing
  • Have taken, or be prepared to undertake the Managing the Care of Children
  • Commitment to working in partnership with patients/ carers
  • Commitment to working in partnership with Education/Social Services

Skills
