Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant to join our Administration Team in the Therapies Department within the Virtual Fracture Clinic- You will be based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital .  We are an expanding team looking for someone who likes a challenge with good learning opportunities to begin your career in the NHS.

Main duties of the job

Prepare the previous days A & E and Minor Injuries Unit  attendances for the Virtual Fracture Clinic (VFC): data entry concerning patients and treatment, scanning of documents and making of fracture clinic appointments. Supporting all disciplines within Therapies in their administrative work.

To act as the first point of contact for issues relating to the booking of Virtual Fracture Clinic and Fracture Clinic appointments all admin duties related to the Therapy Department.

To make and receive telephone calls related to the Therapy Department.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Maths and English C (9-4), or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 2 in Business Administration

Experience/ Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of Data Protection Act
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in a fast paced Admin team
  • Ability to adapt to frequently changing IT systems
  • Experience of working as part of a team and/or multidisciplinary team

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks, using own initiative
  • Negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills
  • Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust’s policies on information governance, data protection, equal opportunities, health & safety and meet the differing needs of the patients.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to communicate via a range of platforms, including face to face, phone, online, email and written.
  • Excellent communication skills, dealing with people, queries and being able to diffuse confrontational situations.
  • Work with systems for collecting data of therapy activities
