Nurse Practitioner/Senior Paramedic Practitioner to join our caring,
supportive and progressive team at Sittingbourne and Sheppey Minor
Injury/Urgent Treatment Centre.

Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the MIU/Urgent Treatment Centre, you will be
expected to manage the assessment, diagnosis, implementation of treatment of a range of highly specialised care for adults and children (aged 1 year and above) presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems visiting the unit.
You'll provide clinical expertise, professional leadership and education,
ensuring high standards of evidence-based practice at all times.
There will be opportunities to develop you to lead an area of practice, and
liaise with leads at other MIU/UTC sites within the organisation, attend
relevant meetings and disseminate information to team members..

Qualification
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse or paramedic
- completion of relevant minor injury / minor illness courses
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within urgent/emergency care/GP surgery
- Experience in requesting and interpreting x-rays
- experience of emergency clinical presentations /PIL/ILS
Desirable criteria
- Autonomous Practitioner
- relevant experience/consolodation in minor injury illness
Skill and Abilities
Essential criteria
- ability to take charge on a shift
- autonomous clinician with leadership ability
Desirable criteria
- Calm under pressure, busy unit
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge or experience of medications under PGD
Desirable criteria
- enhanced knowledge of anatomy & physiology
- awareness of emergency planning
