There is an exciting upcoming job opportunity within Physiotherapy for a Band 4 Physiotherapy Technical Instructor.

We are looking for motivated, caring individuals to work within our highly skilled and dynamic Physiotherapy team to deliver a high quality service to patients.

As a technical instructor in our Physiotherapy Medicine & Orthopaedic team, you will be responsible for independent assessment of patients with mobility needs and work within our competency framework to provide mobility aids, treatment plans and timely discharge planning as part of the multidisciplinary team. 

Main duties of the job

To assist and lead in the rehabilitation of patients within care setting by implementing individual treatment programmes/protocols as prescribed by a therapist. To work with indirect supervision, reporting back patient progress and informing therapist of any problems. Assist in the case management, general administration and equipment systems management within the therapy service.

Essential criteria
  • A good standard of G.C.S.E’s or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in an appropriate subject area or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of caring for patients in a hospital or health/social care setting
  • Previous Knowledge or experience working with physiotherapist.
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a therapy team

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Able to communicate with people including those with language barriers

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience working as a physiotherapy or occupational therapy assistant
  • Knowledge of assessment & discharge processes and external agencies.
