Staff Nurse Paediatrics, Outpatients and Day case

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Registered Children`s Nurse to work within our dedicated outpatient team.
The role will be varied within children’s clinic where there is a variety of children’s clinics run from both paediatricians and other specialities including clinics held by the Tertiary Centres within the North West. You will be part of a team that provides care for children undergoing investigations on a day case basis such as MRI under GA /sleep EEG’s /bloods under sedation / renal scans are just some examples of the type of work you would undertake.
You may also be required to work on the children's day surgery unit 1 day a week, which is a fast paced working environment where children from all specialities attend for planned surgical procedures.
Flexibility is a requirement of this post and internal rotation to meet the demands of the service may be required.

The post holder will work as part of the Outpatients team, working within the children’s clinic / children’s day surgery / children’s day case.
The post holder will support the running of the outpatient’s deportment where there is a variety of children’s clinics run from both paediatricians and other specialities including clinics held by the Tertiary Centres within the North West.
The post holder will be part of a team that provides care for children undergoing investigations on a day case basis such as MRI under GA /sleep EEG’s /bloods under sedation / renal scans, as well as supporting children undergoing surgery on the day surgery unit.
Working as part of the team to provide care for children in the outpatients department, day surgery unit and children requiring day case procedures.

Qualifications

- RSCN / Child Branch, NMC registration
- Diploma in nursing
- Evidence of continuing professional development for more experienced and 5 nurses
- Mentorship or willingness to work towards when in post.

- Minimum 1 year experience
- Degree
- Paediatric Life Support training maintained and up to date
- EPALS/APLS
Experience

- Willingness to expand clinical role, IV training, venepuncture and cannulation
- Experience of working autonomously delivering patient care
- Experience of liaison with different agencies
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
- Understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment
- Clear understanding of safeguarding procedures
- Up to date knowledge regarding national / local guidelines in relation to Children’s Services
