Matron for Gynaecology

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in a senior clinical position as Gynaecology Matron within the Families and Integrated Community Care Division

You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate, and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being

This Matron post will be a key operational post within our gynaecology services and is an essential role in promoting leadership the service

Matron post is advertised for a fixed term or secondment for 12 months

Through strong clinical leadership and effective management, the post holder will support the division in promoting and delivering excellence in nursing and care and maintain and continually improve clinical standards evidenced by the achievement of key quality performance indicators.

To provide senior clinical and managerial leadership to staff in the Gynaecology team, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice and risk management are maintained.

Responsible for nursing budgets and effective management of resources.

Responsible for service development relating to the Gynaecology department

Manage and professionally support specialist nurses as appropriate to their own areas

This role will be pivotal in leading services for Gynaecology. The post holder will be working closely and in partnership with the multidisciplinary teams across the Division to support innovation and quality. You will also ensure robust operation management and effective delivery of services, working in partnership with the other Matrons in the Division and across the Trust.

An understanding of local risk and clinical governance agenda, quality improvement, and a passion for developing teams is essential.
