Job overview

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full time Associate Practitioner to work as part of a professional and efficient team in the Antenatal Screening Laboratory. Bolton laboratory undertakes antenatal screening for the north west of England, the Midlands and Scotland, currently processing around 55,000 samples per annum for the calculation of chance for  Down’s, Edwards’ and Patau’s syndromes.

 

Main duties of the job

The laboratory is equipped with three Revvity AutoDELFIA analysers and a Revvity Delfia Xpress analyser. The laboratory uses Revvity Life Cycle software and is fully UKAS iso 15189 accredited.

The main roles of this post include the routine operation of the analysers, technical validation of results, performing maintenance procedures and assisting in the Antenatal screening office.

In addition the post holder will be expected to assist in compliance with UKAS standards.

Essential criteria
  • Foundation degree in Biomedical subjects or equivalent knowledge
Desirable criteria
  • IBMS certificate of achievement part 1 (Or equivalent)

Experience
