Job overview

The Coronary Care Unit at Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a busy, dynamic 10 bedded unit and runs alongside a busy Cardiac Pacing Suite, providing elective and emergency care for patients receiving pacemakers/ICDs/cardioversions & TOEs. 

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse who has excellent communication skills & a passion for their role and improving patient care.

Main duties of the job

As a band 6 registered nurse you will be expected to promote and lead the team in ensuring the delivery of excellent standards of patient centered care. You will need to demonstrate good organisational skills in the coordinating and managing of patient care between both CCU and the Pacing Suite, whilst ensuring consistency in providing clinically excellent care and support for patients, relatives and the team.  You will work closely with the Ward Manager in driving quality, providing strong leadership, role modelling to junior staff and provide clinical supervision.

We work together with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care at a local level and have strong links with the North West cardiac tertiary centres. As a team we are committed to dealing with current and emerging cardiology and general issues in a proactive manner which provides a safe, professional and enriching environment for all.
