Anaesthetics and Surgical Division - Critical Care Unit 

The Critical Care Unit here at Bolton is looking to recruit hard working Health Care Assistant to work in our Critical Care Unit.

The Anaesthetics and Surgical Division includes emergency and elective surgery including specialities general surgery, breast, ENT, urology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and rheumatology. This is inclusive of theatres and the Critical Care Unit. This makes for a varied division of services with a common focus of providing safe and effective patient care.

Critical Care is an 18 bedded unit caring for level 2 and level 3 patients from a variety of specialties. The unit undertakes long days with an internal rotation to night duty. 

You will have a supernumerary period to support you in your induction. You will be guided and supported with many of our multidisciplinary team members including medical staff, outreach, physio, dietician etc. 

Staff are supported during each of their shifts by an excellent team of nurses and each day is led by a band 7 team leader to further support staff and decision making within the unit. With the help of our supportive teams we can facilitate a safe and comfortable transition for new and exciting learning and development. We have a designated practice educator nurse for Critical Care who supports new staff and ensures all staff are up to date with competencies and skills training.

 

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates will be expected to provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, whilst being supported by our dynamic multi disciplinary team.
