Digital Trainer

NHS AfC: Band 5

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Digital Education Team.  We are recruiting to replace two members of our team who have announced their retirement.  We are interested in applicants who are passionate about the benefits of technology and how it can improve patient care.

The postholder will deliver and evaluate training and support users in the workplace to both individuals and staff groups using face to face training, virtual and eLearning methods.  Applicants with experience of delivering Clinical Systems are preferred but not essential. Experience of digital content design is preferred however, successful applicants will be expected to learn.  As a Digital Trainer you will create engaging and interactive learning materials, including e-learning and instructional videos.

We are seeking a reliable, patient and adaptable person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Applicants should possess the ability to quickly learn complex tasks and be able to communicate this learning in a logical, concise and clear manner. The post holder will work autonomously to deadlines and manage your own workload.

Consideration will be given to applicants wishing to develop their training skills. This would start on a Band 4 with progression available on completion of relevant qualifications and experience.

Secondment opportunities would also be considered for this position.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work flexibly both in terms of your ability to travel between sites as well as the ability to occasionally work shift patterns and weekends in line with our service needs.  Whilst the post is based at the Royal Bolton Hospital, flexible and agile working practices are in place.

Provide training, support and knowledge to support the implementation and development of all elements of Digital Education being implemented within the Trust. To ensure that all users make full and effective use of Digital tools by evaluating and testing current and new software, as well as planning, developing, delivering and evaluating training courses/material.

Working for our organisation

The Trust is a great place to work, evidenced by the most recent NHS Staff Survey results where our staff ranked us as the best NHS place to work in Greater Manchester. We are really proud of this and ensure that everyone in the Trust is both seen and heard. It has been a challenging time for the NHS with the national pandemic response at the forefront of our minds and activities, but we are coming out of pandemic pressures with renewed energy, and it is a truly exciting time for the Trust with investment and development of the Digital applications of which this role will be a key part.

We hope the above has encouraged you to join a high-performing Digital team in an equally high-performing Trust! We look forward to hearing from you.
