Job overview

We are at an exciting phase in our digital transformation journey here at the Trust having started to implement an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution in 2018 we continue on our digital journey.  Our focus is to provide digital care that is patient focused, clinically led, and this role will play a key part in shaping and driving this ambition, recognising that the optimised use of technology and data is critical to the future of the Trust.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic digital leader who is passionate about positive change, can build an inspiring vision, and lead the delivery of the digital and data agenda in collaboration with the digital leadership team and the wider Trust to ensure our future hospital digital vision provides a unified, digitally mature infrastructure across our integrated health and care system.

Main duties of the job

A key aspect of this role will be to lead the transformational change associated with the 'Digital First' agenda that will include leading the trusts digital strategy of which the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme is the cornerstone.  They will act as the liaison between the digital team and senior leadership across the organisation.

The post holder will be a strong digital leader and will actively promote and champion the development of digital and information culture to support clinical care, using digital and data as an enabler of change and quality improvement across the organisation.

They will lead the digital team to deliver robust digital services including:

  • Clinical Systems
  • Integration and Development
  • Clinical Informatics
  • Information Governance
  • IT Service Delivery and Infrastructure
  • Primary Care IT
  • Digital Education
  • Business Intelligence

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to masters level in an informatics discipline or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Management Qualification or equivalent experience
  • Finance Qualification e.g HfMA Finance for Non-Financial Managers
  • Coaching or Mentoring Qualification
  • Prince 2 or ITIL Qualification
  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Member of relevant professional body
  • Prince 2 project management practitioner
  • MSP Foundation & Practitioner
  • SQL or Analytics Qualification
  • IG Qualification
  • EPR Configuration

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive senior experience in Digital / Informatics
  • Experience of working across multiple Digital disciplines
  • Experience of Financial management of multi million pound capital investment and revenue budgets
  • Experience of System wide working
  • Experience of producing and appraising large scale business cases
  • Experience of managing large scale informatics programmes.
  • Experience in deploying / supporting: EPR/ clinical Applications and patient administration systems.
  • Experience of working at or very close to Board level
  • Experience of working in a large Acute provider
  • Experience of significant Digital procurement, contract management and negotiation
  • Experience of coaching and developing a digital team
  • Experience of risk management, assurance and good governance practises
