We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic midwife to join our established Practice Education Team as a Educator for Student Midwife and Preceptorship Midwives.

The successful applicant will support the ongoing training to Student Midwives and provide support and clinical training to Preceptorship Midwives.

Main duties of the job

he post holder must be able to work alongside the Preceptorship Midwives supporting them in clinical practice  with clinical skills such as suturing, cannulation and intravenous drug therapy.

In addition the post holder will be responsible for the organisation of Student Midwifery practice placements, working alongside the universities to ensure the students get the very best out of their clinical placements.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife
  • Educated to degree level
  • Trained Practice Assessor
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Working towards Masters qualification or equivelent
  • Professional Midwifery Advocate
  • Recent Leadership Course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working within a Multi Professional Team
  • Experience in teaching and training facilitation
  • Knowledge of the national maternity agenda
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of change management
  • Familiar with quality improvement
