Job overview
An exiting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Neonatal Occupational Therapist to work within the Bolton Foundation NHS Trust Neonatal Unit.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated therapist who works well in a team and with excellent communication skills to undertake this highly specialist role.
The successful applicant will work as a key member of the Neonatal MDT Team and will be working in an inpatient setting on the Neonatal Unit and for one session a week in the joint occupational therapy and physiotherapy neonatal outreach clinic.
Main duties of the job
- Work as an autonomous expert practitioner utilising advanced skills and facilitating high quality, individualised care to infants and parents/carers in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, at all times ensuring that the needs of the infant and their family are placed at the centre of care delivery.
- Demonstrate active participation and leadership in projects and activities that support developmental care and the unit’s priorities. (Bliss Friendly, etc)
- Be engaged in clinical evaluation and audit activity in partnership with the wider AHP/Unit team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered with HCPC
- CPD relevant to neonatal occupational therapy
Desirable criteria
- Recognised post-graduate qualifications applicable to role
- Registered with Neonatal specialist interest group
- BAOT member
Experience
Essential criteria
- Managerial experience relevant to role
- Relevant postgrad NHS Occupational Therapy including neonatal care
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using a wide range of infant assessment tools
- Previous Band 7 experience
- Experience of monitoring performance
- Experience of neonatal assessment and interventions
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
