Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams for a suitably experienced Administrator. The Integrated Neighbourhood Teams aim to improve co-ordination and communication between health, social care, patients and their families and carers.

As accurate minute taking, typing and processing of correspondence, reports and other documents are a major part of this role you will be able to demonstrate a good level of experience in these areas. You will have excellent organisational skills and have the ability to manage and prioritise an unpredictable and frequently interrupted busy workload. 

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will have specific responsibility for providing administrative and clerical support to the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams in Burnley, with other localities as and when required.

Assisting in the provision of quality clerical support to a wide range of professional colleagues, you will liaise with patients, families and carers, members of the primary health care team and other agencies. Excellent communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail, are all essential skills for this role. With good, all round experience of working in a busy office environment, the successful applicant will receive a thorough induction to the service. You will  take part in regular supervision and peer support, and you will be encouraged to access the Trust’s training courses relevant to this post.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in four subjects including Maths and English
  • Knowledge of specialised IT systems such as EMIS, LAS
  • IT qualification such as ECDL or extensive demonstrable experience of using IT software such as Microsoft Office

Experience

Essential criteria
  • At least 12 Months experience of working in the health and social care sector, primarily working directly with patients/service users
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of providing holistic assessments of need
  • Experience of using Liquid Logic

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Knowledge of a range of health and social care services available
  • Skills in dealing with the public sensitively often at times of distress
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
Desirable criteria
  • Basic knowledge of welfare benefits and Personal Health Budgets

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate confidence to deal with internal departments and external agencies over the phone and face to face
