The post holder will carry out both upper and lower endoscopy, make diagnoses, take biopsies and perform polypectomy.  They will document their findings using the endoscopic reporting system with both written reports and photographic evidence.  Recommendations will be made based on the findings and if relevant, advice given to GP referrers.  Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant guidelines will be used to arrange follow-up endoscopy and further investigations.
