The Fylde Coast Children’s Therapy Team is a forward-thinking integrated team providing paediatric therapy services to children and families across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre. We currently  part time opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapists to join our friendly and supportive Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team.

You will offer speech and language therapy management for predominantly children within our Social Communication caseload however this may change depend on experience and the needs of the service. The successful candidate will be working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties from 0-19. The post requires you to work with both other members of the speech and language therapy team and a range of other professionals.


The Speech and Language Therapy Team is a small but motivated team of enthusiastic clinicians and assistants.

Car owner/driver is essential to enable you to undertake the job.

To work within and adhere to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Practice, relevant Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.

To be responsible for the management of a caseload of children with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties across a range of settings.

To participate in the management (assessment, diagnosis, treatment, general management and discharge) of children referred to the service.

To be involved in the provision of support, guidance and information to parents and other professionals regarding speech, language and communication.

To assist in the clinical supervision and education of speech and language therapy assistants.

To participate in the clinical education of speech and language therapy students.

To work in the community as a lone practitioner in line with the BTHFT lone worker policy.

  • Recognised Honours Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered member of the Health & Care Professions Council
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Attendance at relevant post-graduate training e.g. PECS, Hanen
  • A demonstrable commitment to CPD activity with evidence of same.

  • Experience of formulating patient-centred treatment plans in conjunction with patients & carers

  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Experience of contributing towards Individual Education Plans and attending SEN Annual Review Meetings
  • Experience of delivering training to others (parents or professionals)
  • Experience of contributing to the development of evidence-based clinical pathways
