Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary to join the Moving Well Service within Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide a vital and dynamic medical secretarial support and supervisory role supporting the Moving Well Service.  

The post is mainly based at Minerva Health Centre, Lowthorpe Road, Preston.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Deputy Admin Lead, Consultants, other Clinical Professionals, Service Managers and operational managers to provide an efficient and responsive administration service.  

The post holder will be required to work on their own initiative and liaise effectively with a broad range of health and social care professional.  They will be experienced in supporting the management of operational clinical services, supervising a team and maintaining staff and client confidentiality.

You will support and develop a responsive administration service having responsibility for the day to day supervision of the administrative team and in adherence to Trust policies and procedures.

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 4 in Business and Admin or equivalent experience
  • Good level of general education including Mathematics and English at GCSE Grade 4 or above, or equivalent
  • OCR level III or equivalent word processing experience

Knowledge

  • Understanding of GDPR
  • Specialist knowledge of a range of secretarial procedures

Experience

  • Work in an office environment
  • Experience of working with distressed patients
  • Secretary experience

Skills and Abilities
