Specialist Grade Psychiatrist – General Adult Psychiatry, Preston (10 PAs)
We are seeking to recruit a substantive Specialist Grade General Adult Psychiatrist to work with the Preston Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The post is full time and based at West Strand House in Preston.
If the successful candidate has AC status, there will be an expectation to join the Senior Medics On Call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable. Alternatively, for those without AC status, there may be an opportunity to join the 2nd On Call rota, for which there is also additional remuneration.
Main duties of the job
Preston CMHT, which includes Preston East and Preston West CMHT provides services to the adult population of Preston. The Preston CMHT is based at West Strand House. A range of other professionals with varying level of expertise supports the CMHT: operational managers, nurses, clinical psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, occupational therapists, administrative and secretarial staff.
The services are delivered as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) that works with individual patients. The psychological services provided are comprehensive and include a range of assessments and treatments. The Occupational Therapy services provide a wide range of opportunities for patients.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration and have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades.
It is a requirement that applicants are Section 12 Approved at the time of commencing employment
