Children's Health Care Support Worker

•    Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, forensic services including low and medium secure care.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team due to expansion within the service.

Essential Qualifications are:

  • NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent experience.
  • Good general education including GCSE in English Language or equivalent.

The Children’s Packages of Care team care for children with very complex needs in the community, this could be at home, in school or out in the community. The service provides 24/7 for cover for the children and families.

The ideal candidates will have experience in a health care, social care or education setting working with children. An NVQ3 in care or equivalent care experience is desired, however full training will be given.

The service meets the needs of the families and this can vary, due to this the successful candidate will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service: which will include working day shifts, nights and weekends. The service covers predominantly night shifts (usually 10 hour nights) so candidates will need to be open to working these shifts.

The successful candidate would benefit from working within LSCFT’s Clinical Team of the Year, 2023, where you will be offered supervision, high quality training and regular team wellbeing sessions. As an LSCFT employee, you would receive a personal development plan, line management with monthly one to one meetings, flexible working arrangements and NHS pension

Career pathway from HCSW to nursing associate is available to members of CPOC.

You would need to be organised, able to work alone and part of a team, adaptable, calm in pressured situations and flexible to meet the needs of the service.

The team care for children across Lancashire, you would need to meet the minimum travel requirements of the role due to shift working and the large geographical area. We have bases in Burnley and a satellite base in Preston, mileage to shifts will be reimbursed if further than work base.
