Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 practitioner to join the Central Home Treatment Team.

The Central Home Treatment Team offer 24 hour support to service users, and their families/carers, who are suffering from mental health concerns that would otherwise require admission to an acute in patient environment.

There is a strong focus on a recovery model and effective risk management to provide quality care in a community setting.

Main duties of the job

The Central Home Treatment Team are always striving towards excellence in service delivery and ensuring that the Trust values are achieved. The successful applicant will be dynamic and forward thinking with the ability to work as part of a Team and in partnership with local services.

There will be an expectation that the successful applicant will undertake night duty and shift work as part of their role.

The Central Home treatment team also provide intervention to Willow House the Crisis support house based in Chorley, The Haven service at times there will be a need for the successful candidate to undertake these roles.

Successful applicants will be provided with a full induction and appraisal to formulate a Personal Development Plan and to identify training and development needs.

*The £7k Welcome Bonus package applies to this role.  The bonus is only available for people who are not currently employed (or who have not been employed in the last 12 months) by any NHS provider trust in the Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in a like-for-like role; e.g. a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse at another Trust in the LSC ICS would not be eligible for the bonus if moving to a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse role at LSCFT. Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 24 months of employment. This bonus is applicable to any successful candidate whose interview for this role is conducted prior to 30th June 2024.

The £7k Welcome Bonus package is designed to attract and retain the very best staff in post. The amount a new starter would receive is shown in the Welcome Bonus Payment Schedule below

·       £3,000 after 2 months of employment (counted from start date with LSCFT)

·       £2,000 after 12 months

·       £2,000 after 24 months

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • CQSW,CSS, DipSW or equivalent and/or experience relevant to the post.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of CPA Care Co-ordinators role
  • Able to provide evidence that they can work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrate advanced Risk Assessment and Risk Management skills
  • Able to manage own time and prioritise workload

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate understanding of Health & Safety policies, procedures and effects on practice
  • Ability to manage complex situations, prioritise and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Demonstrate understanding of how research has influenced their practice
  • Able to demonstrate and understand the concept of community care and the need to develop good networks
