We are part of an incredibly friendly and welcoming team of Dietitians, Dietetic support workers  and administrative staff who work in a variety of specialist areas across Preston and Chorley Hospitals.

No previous experience is needed as you will receive an initial period of training, however a willingness to learn and good communication skills are essential! You will support clinical dietetic  inpatient services  and  outpatients and will also develop specialist knowledge about the home feeding service and arrangements for our patient group.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Dietitians to build your skills to be able to carry out clinical and non- clinical duties. These will include reviewing patient treatment plans, checking menu choices, organising equipment, feeds and paperwork for discharge, providing telephone follow up, liaison with other health care professionals and responding to telephone queries.

You will be based at the Royal Preston Hospital but there may be occasions when you are established in post that you are asked to cover for the dietetic assistant based at Chorley Hospital.

Working for our organisation

We have 10000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients.  Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done.  You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.
