Job overview

As CHC Assistant, your role will be to provide administrative support to the CHC Office Manager and the Continuing and Complex Healthcare Team performing a wide range of administrative functions including maintaining office systems and processes, scanning and data inputting.

CHC is a friendly, busy team where colleagues work together to meet the needs of the service.  You will be required to work closely with your colleagues  but also have the ability to work on your own initiative and handle sensitive situations.

There are currently 1 part time vacancy within the CHC team at Stockport Locality.

Main duties of the job

First point of contact for telephone queries escalating any issues, as appropriate.

Inputting/updating patient data system.

Arrange various meetings on behalf of the Nurse Assessors including Multi-disciplinary Meetings (MDTs) and Review meetings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for telephone queries.  This could be from a variety of sources including colleagues, other professionals or members of the public.   

Inputting case notes and updating the data management system is an important and integral part of the role, where attention to detail is required.

Good communication skills along with the ability to plan and prioritise your workload is essential.  

Arranging various meetings on behalf of the Nurse Assessors, such as MDTs and Review meetings.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of NHS issues

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or equivalent previous experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Educated to NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or equivalent previous experience
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with the public
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of minute taking
