You may be interested in a new role in the programme team within Data Analytics and Assurance Directorate.

The key purpose of this role is to support and contribute to the effective planning and delivery of the Caring for our Data Strategy 2022 – 2025 through effective portfolio, programme and project management.

You would be joining the Data Analytics and Assurance Directorate at an exciting time with the establishment of a newly formed portfolio governance and the introduction of new tool Microsoft Azure DevOps to effectively plan and monitor project delivery.  You will also lead on the provision of a comprehensive business support service.

This role will work alongside our Programme Manager, working closely with our Analytics, Data Technology, Access to Health Records and Information Governance teams providing hands on support along with:

  • Creating, implementing, and developing guidelines, workflows, and processes to ensure consistency across the directorate in relation to project processes including new work requests, risk and issue management and benefits realisation.
  • Maintaining data in a consistent form and being a tools expert in the software that the project community are required to use

Please note this role is on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months, however may become permanent in the future.

Main duties of the job

  •  Lead on the provision of a professional business and project function delivering high quality services.
  • Provide hands on support to project manager/leads in the team, including the development of project documentation, for example benefits realisation plans.
  • Develop and maintain accurate data and information to support successful monitoring of portfolio, programme, and project delivery.
  • Take a proactive approach in the continuous improvement of the business and project function

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Work as an integral and valued member of the Data Analytics and Assurance Directorate, in the Programme team, leading on the provision of a professional business and programme management function.  You will work alongside the Programme Manager providing hands on support along with: 

·       Creating, implementing, and developing guidelines, workflows, and processes to ensure consistency across the directorate in relation to project processes including new work requests, risk and issue management and benefits realisation.

·       Maintaining data in a consistent form and become a tools expert in the software that the project community are required to use.

You will have excellent business and project management experience, knowledge and skills, and demonstrable experience of working across teams.  You will have sound knowledge of programme and project methodologies, alongside demonstrable experience of working in collaboration with colleagues and project teams to support successful project delivery

Essential criteria
  • NVQ3/BTEC in Business and Administration and/or relevant experience in a business/project office environment
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Association of Project Management (APM) related qualification(s)
  • Agile related project management qualification(s)
