The East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is a vibrant new  Elective Care   Hub opening December 2024.  EMPCC will provide a Multi - professional approach providing the right care in right place by a skilled and expert team.   The University Hospitals of Leicester  are leading the way in healthcare and transforming the way we work to reduce waiting times, improve patient care and staff experience.

The EMPCC will focus on the provision of high volume, low complexity care across a range of specialties, promising increased access to healthcare services improving overall experience, increased staff wellbeing, training and development opportunities, as a well as a chance to work with the latest equipment and techniques.

Main duties of the job

The Phlebotomists provide a service to both inpatient and outpatient areas at all three UHL hospital sites.   Full training will be provided, but we would like you to have had customer service experience in your recent past preferably in a caring environment.  You will also need to prove that you have the ability to work on your own initiative and to tight deadlines in a pressurized environment, and you must be able to walk, bend and handle medium loads over extended periods of time.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Promoting privacy and dignity at all times whilst conducting duties.
  • Adheres to Trust policies, procedures and guidelines and promotes the compliance of others.
